Yeah we saw The Flaming Lips (and they were beautiful) and yeah at the end of the night there was the bestest Northern Soul disco and yeah, we spent the day wandering around the greatest city ever...
but the best bit was watching these guys, and this guy in particular.
John Robb is an outspoken, clever, engaging, knowledgeable and slightly hectic legend. We spoke about early 80's jazz after this gig. I didn't have a fucking clue what he was on about but I'm not too bothered.
