Out early

I headed out early to do attempt to some night photography which kinda of went ok .  I hadn't been successful with this in the past but armed with some "tricks of the trade"  care of the " Boss of Tussock Tales and quite a few layers of warm clothing I headed south into the McKenzie country to give this new found knowledge a go. You could say it was close but no cigar!
After losing the feeling in my fingers I retreated to warmth of my car and headed further south and along the way I spied the first light of the day reflected in the water of the Tekapo canal .
