Getting on with it

Compare today's view with that of 25th October 2014.  Can't see the grand old house now for these moster buildings that have sprung up in the space in the foreground. I assume these are all apartments for retired people, as is the rest of the development. Surely they cannot be houses as they are so close together with no gardens and very little open space.

This was our second trip into Mote Park today, earlier we'd taken Marion on a short trip around the lake as, despite visiting Bearsted at least three times, she hadn't ventured into the park. She was thrilled by what she saw, the old Mote House, the grand trees and the lake together with a few ducklings. The short trip turned out to be a three mile stroll in quite drizzly weather.

Today was Marion's last full day in England. She flies back to Ontario tomorrow morning and is staying at a hotel near Gatwick tonight. So after lunch we waved her off with hugs and thanks for a great couple of weeks and promises to see each other next year if not before.

In the afternoon we visited Mote Park again on our way into town for another walk and to collect a few things we needed, then it was a relaxing evening on our own for the first time in over two weeks.
