Growing old disgracefully

By GOD

STOB

Before the rain came, we walked through the Locher woods, a new community woodland which is lovely right now, but will be amazing in 30 years time as the beech, oak and other new trees are more mature. The strategically placed bench is now delightfuly surrounded by Conopodium majus (pignut). As a child, I loved digging up its tubers to eat.

One of the many delights of walking with the Professor is that he has a good eye for an image, especially if it is whimsical. I almost missed the lugubrious expression on this fence stob.

THREE GOOD THINGS:

The rain - a rest from watering this evening
Meeting a good friend later on - we are going to plan a trip to Amsterdam together
Another good friend is out of HDU and on the mend
