Waddesdon Manor

Having bought myself a National Trust membership the other week, it turns out that Paul is also a member - a friend gave him a membership for his birthday this year. So to make the most of it, we decided to have a day trip up to Waddesdon Manor in Buckinghamshire. We like road-trips, and it was going to be free once we got there (apart from the lunch and the tea and cake...). I'm never sure what to make of the houses themselves - they are so opulent that I can't really make any connection with them - but I always enjoy the grounds and the setting and the architecture. And this particular house often has exhibitions and contemporary art works - as you can see from this "candelabra" in one of the smaller dining rooms.
