The Bells of Shandon
Up in Cork again today and early. J taking part in rehearsals for Bold as Brass, a jazz brass concert being performed in a 17th century star fort in Cork during the midsummer festival in June. What they were playing when we went back to pick him up was very improvisational and sounded quite exciting to brass nerds.
Being there early though meant nothing was open, so took a walk around some older parts and bits I hadn't been in for years and Z never had. The blip is of the North side of the city, taken from the top of Patrick's Hill, and the clock tower is Shandon, the four-faced liar, as each clock-face always tells slightly different times.
Back in the city centre I witnessed that moment when you need a bit of help rather than someone taking a picture. Though in fairness I did get the shoe out for her, as her daughter was too helpless with laughter to be much good. A few more here .
