From Where I Stand

Holiday weekend - Memorial Day - Time to remember those who fought in wars for our country while others profited.  Oh, does that sound cynical?  Sorry.  Also, supposedly when it's okay to plant tender flowers and veggies. So spent a good deal of time on this very extended weekend (I took Thursday through Monday off) doing some much needed yard work and planting.  The flower seeds were given at Matthew and Richard's wedding shower.  The weather has been perfect but still no real rain in sight so have been doing a considerable amount of watering.  

The glory of gardening: hands in the dirt, head in the sun, heart with nature. To nurture a garden is to feed not just on the body, but the soul.  Alfred Austin
