Newcastle Unity Festival

The Newcastle Unity Festival is a unique, open air, totally free, Music Festival. It’s been set up to proactively challenge, all forms of intolerance & promote Unity in the community.

My friend Clara was running the children's area. There was a bouncy castle, which I got to health and safety check before the children arrived by jumping on it...of course I did ;), face painting, story telling, stilt walking & plenty of other arts and crafts activities to keep those little people entertained.

Myself and eight other volunteers helped out with the day. I was helping the face painting lady and even got a butterfly painted on face and gave out bubbles to the children whilst they waited to get their face painted.

The sun was shining and the atmosphere as amazing, so many happy faces.

This was the the first year for the festival and it was a huge success. I know that it's a start of something big.
