Bye Bye Blackbird
Last day of the Jubilee weekend, thank goodness. It's nice to see all the colours everywhere, but all this forced jollity does pall eventually.
I spent the morning in front of the TV (well not all morning) watching the final episode of Game of Thrones Series 2. This has been one of Sky Atlantic's flagship programs, totally excellent (did I really say that?) I only hope it's not too long before Series 3. In the meantime I am reading the first book in the series (of eight I believe). It's a bit strange to be reading the story of the previous series whilst watching the current one, but I'm coping, and it does explain some of the complexities of the whole thing. By the time I start the second book I suspect I'll be watching the third TV series.
It has been raining all afternoon, but we did manage to get out for coffee. Emma has come around for tea; we're doing curry with wild rice.
Today's photo is a bit of a joke. We have a pair of blackbirds which frequently visit our garden; I think they have a nest close by. The rain obviously brought the worms to the surface and the female was busy scavenging, so an opportunity for a blip. I thought I'd spice the picture up a little, so this is the fastest standing still bird in our garden!
