York Bar Walls

Today was the annual York City Race. An orienteering race around the narrow streets and snickets of historic York. Lots of twists and turns demanded full concentration.

We had early runs to avoid the crowds visiting the city. Then rushed back to the start to relieve the start team.

This is a picture of Goodramgate Bar one of the main entrances to the city. This was a route choice on our course and you can probably see a competitor running through the bar towards the end of the event. Dodging pedestrians, cars and the odd cyclist is the price you pay for a late start.
