White mouthed moray
The dive crew had an extra top for me today, determined to get a solution for the cold. What a result! A 70 minute dive without getting the shivers and therefore headacheless.
Both dive sites were beautiful with some lovely swim-throughs. There was, as usual, plenty of wildlife to see including a few things new to us... A viper eel (a real mean looker), a gold lace nudibranch (slug!), harlequin shrimps and a leaf scorpion fish. Still the frogfish remains elusive but all the dive guides work super hard to spot things for you. Today, I've chosen a white mouthed moray. Although they're one of the commonest eels in Hawaii, I think they're rather pretty (in a toothy kind of way!)
It had clouded over quite a lot and there had been some rain when we got back which worked well for us as it was cool enough to enjoy the street market followed by an early and delicious dinner at Baba Gump's Shrimp Emporium. We have quite severe 'boat rock' - our name for being on land hours later and still having the world swishing from side to side... Elbows are firmly planted on the dinner table to prevent sea sickness!
We watched the sunset eating Hershey's chocolate before a drink by the pool before retiring and writing up diaries.
