a thousand lights low and high
I just can't speak highly enough of the pictured 2011 Sorley MacLean collected poems ...
... if you haven't got it, do consider finding a copy ;-)
Here's a short poem from within:
Lights
When the auburn head lies
on my shoulder and my breast
the dawn of triumph opens
however gloomy the darkness.
A light in the South-East,
Orion over the Greek Mountain,
a light in the South-West,
Venus over the generous Cuillin.
When my lips are on her cheeks
the inter-lunar lords are shining,
a thousand lights low and high,
auburn head and blue eyes.
