Queens and Arrows

Today was the big event in Liverpool and the place was packed. Roads leading into the city were gridlocked as an estimated one million people lined the banks of the Mersey to watch the Three Queens.

The Queen Mary 2, which was already berthed in the city, was joined by sister ships the Queen Elizabeth and Queen Victoria.The three ships did a river dance and a salute to the city and the Red Arrows also made a brief flypast .

The event marked the 175th anniversary of shipping line Cunard.
