Jubilee Ships
Today, we headed down to Southampton to have a look around as a wee birdy mentioned something about ships berthing for the Diamond Jubilee Celebrations. To see one of Cunards famous liners in port is quite impressive, but to see all three in at the same time is something you don't often see. We parked on the roof of a famous Swedish inspired furniture store to get a decent view of this ship, having spotted the sister QM2 berthed further down the river. The only ship I didn't see was the Queen Victoria... Her view was obscurred by the cinema complex over the road.
I did hope to have a look at the other ship, but by the time we had finished looking around indoors, the bank holiday weather struck again.
Mind you, spare a moment or two to think of the poor senior royals having to go through all that ceremony again today in London - especially with all this 'typical British' weather. I'm sure they will look forward to tomorrow when they can get back to some kind of relative normality.
I'll post the other shots onto flikr or something later in the week when I get around to it.
