Beautiful shoes

We nipped to Vaison after school today to get Lili some walking shoes for her classe verte trip the week after next. Luca came along and spent about an hour (whilst Lili tried on every walking shoe in the shop) stroking this pair of football boots. After checking that they would be too big for him I conceded that he could try them on and to his complete delight he announced that they fitted perfectly - whereupon a member of staff helpfully came along and agreed that this make came up small. He then spent the next twenty minutes looking at me with big eyes until I eventually agreed to buy them (at least they were 50% off).

It is therefore now official, Luca has his first pair of football boots.
When I went in to say good night to him he said "Mummy, I am so lucky aren't I?"
When I went in to turn the light off after he had fallen asleep I noticed he had put them on with his pyjamas.

Oh to be four years old!
