Oh Noes! Teh Orange Ones . . . R . . . Poysin!
It was in the middle of their play date that Dexter suddenly remembered - perhaps too late! - that the orange ones are poison!!!!!
One of the best things about coming home from the woods this past holiday weekend was getting to spend some quality time with our Tabbycat, Dexter.
I am not sure where it had been hidden all this time, but in the past few weeks, Dexter somehow came up with an old toy: an orange, catnip-infused lizard. He loves nothing more than to lie in a sunbeam on the floor of his room (yes, Dexter has his own room) and play with the orange lizard.
There is a corner of the Interwebs that I used to frequent called I Can Has Cheezburger? I met a whole bunch of cool people there and we used to make pictures called LOLs. LOLs are silly images featuring mostly cats, that are captioned in fractured English.
We also hung out on the site and typed silly messages back and forth, using what we called LOLspeak, the official term for the kind of fractured English I referred to. The title of this blip demonstrates LOLspeak.
One of our community's favorite Internet memes was "the orange ones are poison," which featured a Tabbycat not unlike Dexter, displayed in a scene quite similar to this one, with an orange toy on the ground but with the cat's paws thrown in the air. There were quite a few derivatives on the scene, including this little gem, as well.
And so when I caught Dexter on this morning lying in a sunbeam, playing with his little orange buddy and looking suddenly worried, I realized it was my grand opportunity to create a tribute blip/LOL of my own to the classic meme. So here it is!
The song to accompany this image is Alice Cooper, with Poison.
P.S. Of course no Tabbycats were harmed in the making of this blip; and no, of COURSE the orange ones aren't REALLY poison . . .
