Golden Alpine Meadow
The footpath I was going to take was closed for forestry work so I just wandered off to a clearing. With predominantly Yellow Rattle flowers, the meadow was positively glowing in the morning sunshine. At 1,300m the flowers are very different to those at our altitude of 600m which are already being cut. Each altitude has a different flora so no wonder the Swiss cows seem to enjoy their tranhumance up and down the mountains each summer.
