Where have all the snails gone?

My first Blip entry. At last.
You may think this is just a Lupin, but no, it is a minor miracle.
For years we've been trying to grow lupin's and for years the snails and slugs have been waiting, poised.
So, what a pleasant surprise to find not one but two lupins bursting through a couple of days ago.
Let's hope the snails stay away, wherever they're hiding.
