CCC: Jackdaw Chick

More piercing-eyed in large.

Well, this was a surprise. I found the gardener hand-feeding a jackdaw chick that he'd been handed by a member of college staff. Apparently a student had complained of hearing mice in their room, and this was what was found (there aren't any other biology students in Corpus Christi).
It was a bedraggled thing and not in good shape, and the gardener wasn't sure what to do with it (the fox family got a mention); I told him where I thought the nest was (which, it turns out, was directly above the room where it was discovered), so he went up to try to reunite it with its family (the risk of rejection is nothing compared to the certain alternative).

Fingers crossed for the pathetic little thing.
