Bye Bye Blue Bell

We emptied the last tub of Blue Bell ice-cream today. We'd already started it when they did the recall (because of listeria) and we weren't feeling sick, so we just kept it and finished it. We're all still on our feet and doing great.

Blue Bell is THE ice-cream factory of Texas and almost everyone loves their ice-cream and has taken a tour at their production facilities in Brenham, Texas. About 2 months ago there was news that some of the tubs of ice-cream would be contaminated with listeria and in the next weeks Blue Bell took serious measures and recalled all their ice-cream. 
At the same time marketing for other brands of ice-cream boosted. I've never heard so many Blue Bunny ice-cream adds on the radio.
It's the end of May now and no news from Blue Bell when the production will pick up. They even had to lay off a lot of people, because it's taken so long to clean all their facilities. So this weekend I cheated on Blue Bell and bought some HEB brand ice-cream. We emptied this last tub today and started on the new ice-cream, which was actually not bad at all.
But... I'd still buy Blue Bell ice-cream as soon as it's back on the shelves.
