fishy fossil

Yesterday at lunch we chatted about pavement fossils. One of those can be found outside the Commonwealth Pool. Today on my way to work I had to check it out and behold - a Devonian lungfish fossil on a Caithness flagstone slab. Quite a nice one as well.

Wednesdays are my in-town days. Today, I visited the Something Blue exhibition in the Main Library. The exhibition shows various things in blue from illuminated books via Joseph Black's denim experiments to Lapis lazuli minerals. Well worth the visit.
