Birdseye Primrose

Mrs.K. and I took the new 08.51 pulled by two huge Growler diesels from Arnside to Silverdale. It took 4 minutes and 37 seconds and cost £1.30.

Walking back was 3.29 miles and took 1 hour 15 minutes and 52 seconds. But of course it involved several detours to special wildflower sites.

Today's Blip is the result of one of these. Primula farinosa is a little beauty which grows about six inches tall. The back of the leaves and the stems are covered with a white mealy flour which gives it its latin name. In the U.K. It is confined to Northern England which makes a nice change.
