Discarded Shell

This discarded eggshell appeared on our patio table overnight - minus the contents. Presumably it has been raided from a nest! It is quite a large shell - a quick google search shows it may be a blackbird egg, but I am not sure.

Our granddaughter came to stay with us today - just for one night, whilst Mum and Dad escape to see the Foo Fighters in Sunderland and stay overnight in a hotel.

She was quite happy, had a hearty lunch and a long play. We went for walk in Wetherby down by the river, but the ducks all seemed to be asleep on the 'island' near the bridge. Obviously well fed before we got there. Anyway she fell asleep in the buggy and didn't stir whilst we did a bit of shopping.

After her tea she took a while to go sleep but eventually dropped off and we had our tea!
