Not a Macro Photo!

A world away from my close-ups of tiny ferns, bees, and buds!

Our house was built on a hillside, and unbeknownst to us, the drainage that carries the rain that soaks into that hillside wasn't installed properly. As it's buried underground, we didn't know that there was a problem until Phil found a leak in one of the basement walls. He contacted a local company that we've used in the past---with excellent results---to diagnose and now to oversee this expensive but necessary remediation project.

Fortunately, we've also had a freelance gardener moving plants to temporary "safe zones" for the past few days, so what you see in one of the extra photos, where excavation is going on under our deck, isn't as dire as it looks!

I've also included a shot of the entire equipage that we had in front of our house this morning in the extras, in case you find heavy equipment as fascinating as I do. The operators' skill is amazing, and it's hard to tear myself away from watching and taking photos of work that's so radically different from my lifetime of wordsmithing, using typewriters and then computers.
