Star of Bethlehem
This little flower has appeared on my field in the grass. My book tells me it is "one of natures shyest plants" it grows from a bulb which is poisonous to cattle but when dried used to be eaten by pilgrims journeying to Mecca. It grows very well in the Breckland area of East Anglia, and is also known locally as "shamefaced maiden".
