The wonders...

...of modern technology ! Went to Scotland's beef event ,up near Blairgowrie in Perthshire today. It was very well attended, and must have taken a lot of setting up. Plenty of trade stands ,lots of different breeds on display and the farm tour was stowed out. Every time I thought of going on it the queue was about an hour. Then the heavens opened about 3pm,so gave it up as a bad job.Saw quite a few folk I knew too.
Left the collie in the landrover cab in,case she got nicked from the back, got all the way across the car park to the entrance when I heard a car alarm going off. Yes,you've guessed it,my landrover ! So had to do the walk of shame back to turn it off, while a certain hound smiled at me out the windscreen!
Saw this sign on one of the stands. There is a sensor attached to the cow that detects increase in body temp and movement and lets the farmer know that she is ready to AI. There was also a stand that was developing a virtual fence. The cattle had collars that would send a signal to a satellite, and they can set a line on a map of the field via your mobile phone which the cattle wont cross !
The second picture shows a bull away to check his text messages !
