a return

starflower 7

practicing my focus.  i walked up the stream today, the first time since the snow has melted.  there were hundreds of these starflowers in the woods.  the plants are about ten cm tall.  the flowers are about one cm across.  the stamens are very fine.  i still have work to do.

but….  as i was researching this flower, i saw a variety of numbers of petals on plants all called "starflower".  i learned there can be as few as five and a many as nine petals on any individual flower, although seven is the most common.  do i hear another series coming on?  or maybe just an opportunity to go walking in the woods.  could be like looking for that four leaf clover.  starflowers are in bloom for another month.  i'll keep you posted.

on another note, thank you so much for your generous comments on the  lily of the valley leaf.  more than that, thank you for all your kindness and support.  i'm not sure where my attention is these days.  a lull post 365?  fooling with my new lens?  doesn't matter.  i'll do my best to get back in touch.
