Perth Bridge

Mrs P and I spent the day working on our garden, and though we deserved a pub dinner at the end of the day. This picture was taken on the way home.

The bridge was built by John Smeaton in 1771. The circles between the arches were originally open to let water at flood level flow through. I don't think the river has ever been quite that high, although the bridge has had to survive many severe floods.
