Spring Clear Out!

Today we had a clear out of the wardrobe in Grandpa's guest bedroom. Lots of old junk was loaded into the car and taken to our local household waste site.

I feel rather bad when I see all of the things we as a society dump at these places, most of it in a good and useable condition.

I saw lots of good quality wooden furniture, a bit dated but perfectly usable. Ideal if you are on a low income or in temporary housing etc.

In hind sight I feel that we should have sorted the stuff out into those things that can go to a charity shop or homeless shelter or similar and stuff which is definitely past it use by date and so has to be tipped. 

In reality, we live in a very fast paced world these days. Lot's of things to do and not enough hours in the day in which to do them and for most people it is much easier just to fill up a few black sacks and place them into the bulky waste container at the tip.

I am a guilty party to this. I feel awful. Next time I will have to try and find some extra time to sort things out and take any sellable items to my local charity shop.

Unfortunately, it is my opinion that one world is just not enough!
