Großräschen

This area in East Germany, close to the Polish border, is a famous open coal pit (Braunkohle Tagebau) in the Lausitz. Yesterday they started to flood it and within the next 10 years there will be a lake. So I will return with my children one day and tell them I was here in a landscape similar to Mars.
