Beaver Lodge
We stayed in Knapdale to see the Scottish Beaver Trial. We had tea and went for a walk the previous evening; plenty of signs of beaver but no sightings. In the morning we went round Loch Collie Bharr and the Dubh Loch on the trail. We saw a dam that raised the Dubh Loch to the same height as the main loch that allows the beaver to pass between the twp without leaving the water. However still no sightings. There is a lodge on the main loch and it can be seen well from the east shore. Luckily the swans were swimming by in a brief brighter spell. The trial is now over and the final decision will be taken later this year. I hope the beaver can remain as they bring a lot of tourists to the area and don't really seem to cause much of a disturbance to the area. The extra photos are of a sapling felled by a beaver and some reeds that caught my eye.
