Lewisia cotyledon
Lewisia are named after Meriwether Lewis who came across the plants on north facing cliffs in USA. We planted this particular on last year and it flowered well but is even better this year. There is a clump of flowers about 10 inches across. The flowers in this variety, as can be seen in the shot open witha distictly yellow colour becoming pink as they age. It is advisable to protect the central rosette from getting too wet in winter.
Finished the getting ready for the show and various other jobs so Friday morning we are off to the Westmorland County Show ground for the first show of the season.
