Reservoir
A really busy day for us all today. We had invited James, a Journalist with The Egypt Independent to come to ACE and and also visit the zoo. Straight away, he was thrown in at the deep end and was observing an operation on a donkey that had stones blocking his passage way!
We had many things to show him and only a short time. Being an Environment and Lifestyle writer, he could write a book about things that we see here on a daily basis!
We visited the zoo and I think he was pleased with the results that we had achieved. I can't use the word happy, as no -one is happy with animals in zoos. A quick return to ACE and then a car tour of the local sewerage works, a disused recycling centre, a man-made forest in the desert and our reservoirs. None of which I knew existed, so it was a great afternoon out, running around the sewerage tanks, trying to work out the processes from start to finish.
This is an early evening view of the reservoir looking towards the 3 peaks of the East Bank. The birds had already started to swoop low over the water, catching the many small insects that were buzzing around as the sunset.
I always say, you never know what is going to happen to you here in Luxor, you think you now it all and then it throws up more suprises :-)
