Snowing All Day!

We have had light snow falling all day. It is 45 cm (just under 18 in) deep, well above my knees. There are drifts that are much deeper.

The power has been off most of the day, but it is on now. I'm so glad I have the stove and heaps of firewood on the veranda. Pity the many people in Christchurch still living in primitive conditions since the earthquakes.

I took this shot through a window. A lot of bushes have collapsed and are buried under the snow. The bird table, centre front, has collected a big cushion of snow. I put food for the birds on the veranda, where it has been very well patronised.
