Squirrel sighting
Dookie has finished his course of antibiotics, so I took him and Kayla off to have their vaccines. On the way down the drive, we met a very small squirrel coming up (does that remind any other ancients of Gerald Hoffnung's The Bricklayer's Story, here)? As I braked, it froze and we stared at each other for a couple of minutes as I groped for the camera. Naturally, just as I was almost ready to shoot, the dear creature hopped further down the drive, and then up a banana tree.
The dogs behaved rather well at the vets and are now hopefully protected against a few lurgies. The visit wrote off the whole morning. In the afternoon, I weeded the herb bed (the 'good' earth we had added after my last attempt produced a prodigious number of weeds) and was well satisfied with my labours by the time we headed back to Rio, calling in on our broken femur friend on the way.
