La Nariz de Indio
First week of Spanish school done! We woke up at 3:30am to watch the sunrise at the top of the Indian's Nose mountain. We hopped on a "chicken bus" at 4am with Diego, the school caretaker and our guide for the day. We now understand the term chicken bus - the old yellow American school bus is pimped out with music blaring and flashing blue lights. The locals pile on until there are 3 people per seat, meaning there is no isle space left and then the door closes and we begin to drive! Luckily we got off 45min later and hiked for 30 min up a STEEP incline. All worth it for this sunrise! We then walked 2 hours back down the mountain through coffee and bean plantations. After a 3 hour nap to recover we spent the afternoon soaking in a hot solar pool. At night we met our teacher and the school director, drank some beers with them and went to a local discotheque. It was held by one of the political parties which resembles a high school dance so after a awkward dance or 2 we were well over due for bed!
