On the basis of the thick part of its body, this snake clearly had some creature under its skin, when it bathed in the sun beneath our hotel terrace in Zakynthos.

A postscript: The next morning the hotel's handyman killed the snake - I do not know why, it did not really bother anyone. It was more than 1.5 m long.
