Hair trigger
Squidge has a late night in the end last night after our family chippy tea. She is full of cold so she was up lots in the night. Angus described her as being on a hair trigger all day. A phrase I loved!
As is well documented on blip, we were very sad to leave the very special bohemian suburb of Chorlton last month. Especially Beech Road. And vowed to visit once a month (at least) for the Farmer's Market Saturdays which were always the best days to be there.
It's only a twenty minute drive from our new place and today we travelled back for the first Farmer's Market since we moved - stopping off for lunch at Moose (one of the newer hangouts on Beech Road), a pootle up to Chorlton Green for a mooch round the market , a singalong (see pic) to the live music, a cake purchase and a slide/swing/bounce in Beech Road Park. We bumped into people we knew, were on first name terms with our waitress and generally had a thoroughly lovely few hours in our (old) stomping ground.
Who knew Beech Road would be just as (if not more) pleasurable to visit once we'd moved? It felt fresh and new again as we soaked up the Saturday atmosphere. Today I realised that it isn't going anywhere and it will be in our lives for a very long time and that made me feel so happy.
We drove back home through Styal and Cheshire's leafy windy roads and into Wilmslow with the sun shining and our new house and area felt like home now. Our new home. And a happy one to return to at that.
