On high
A cold start to the day but there was definitely some sunshine and we managed to fortify ourselves quite well with our cooked breakfasts. We packed the car and Bailey up and navigated our way up to Edale through the Hope valley. Lots of other people clearly had the same idea for spending their Saturday but they generally went in the opposite direction to us. Our route got our steepest bit out of the way first and Bailey was in his element heading straight up. By that stage lots of other people were heading for Mam Tor as well - but none of them had their pictures taken on top of the trig point!
A circuit of the Tor and then over to Rushup Edge for views down into the valley, a fall, a run in some cotton grass and Bailey making friends with mountain biker. We managed to follow our route much more successfully than the last time we were in Edale three years previously, but still ended up at the same pub for a late lunch. And then a final stop and another climb up to Stanage Edge for more views and photos (164 downloaded in total - though not all kept). Home in well under 2 hours means that we really should plan to head that way more often.
