Worth Saving

This silver dish was commissioned by the parents of J.K.A Parnell, an RN Telegraphist, Killed In Action during the sinking of HMS Hermoine in 1942.
It was brought to the attention of Falmouth Town Council as being a possible addition to the towns historic collection.
Falmouth Town Council took the decision not to proceed.
I brought the dishes availability to the attention of the Falmouth Branch, The Royal Naval Association, who voted unanimously to obtain the dish and prevent its loss.
The seller reduced the price by 10% because of who we are, it will arrive here in Falmouth this week. Once it's here it will be cleaned and restored before we set out to track down any descendants of J.K.A Parnell and find out who he was.

One intrigue, why does his name not appear on the Falmouth War Memorial?
