APHRODITE'S ROCK

Weemo and I had a trip to Paphos today stopping at the 2000 year old Temple of the Apollo followed by a visit to Aphrodite's Rock. Petra tou Romiou, a rock off the shore along the main road from Paphos to Limassol, has been regarded since ancient times as the birthplace of Aphrodite, goddes of love and fertility. According to ancient tradition, Aphrodite was born from the waves on the site off the coast of Cyprus. We headed on to Paphos where we had a delicious lunch at the harbour before heading back to the resort!
