Computer Age.
We set off for the Channel Tunnel at sparrows fart this morning. I was confident I'd remembered everything. LooseCanon had installed various devices in the 'Beast' as we call our motor home, designed to make wifi and thus blipping easier and foolproof.
After a few miles he suggested I might want to try the gadget which allows you to access the Internet on your iPad while driving along.
At this point I realised I didn't actually remember packing my iPad so to cut a long story short we had to go back and get it. And it worked. Brilliantly. Mobile blipping. Genius!
Anyway we took the tunnel, arrived in France and were sailing along one of their silky smooth, quiet but expensive motorways, when I noticed a plume of smoke issuing from the power adaptor. The plug thingy had burnt out! So that was the end of that gizmo.
The second gizmo which is a wifi booster ( don't ask me I'm Technophobe) didn't work at first either but after steak frites and half a bottle of wine my technical advisor seems to have got it working, so I hope to be able to post this blip!
Typical pollarded French Plane tree.
