Waiting.....

.....to run 26.2 miles!

This is the lovely Mr HazelH keeping me calm before today's Edinburgh Marathon. Hazelh herself took the photo. They have been kind enough to put me up for the entire marathon weekend, and it has been fantastic!!!!

It would have been a good run had it not been for the blimmin wind! At 18 miles we turned into a gusty headwind and I lost my flow. Then I lost heart. Anyway - the purpose of the run was to see if I could still 'do it'. It's been 4 years, and in that time I've had another baby and a long lay off from racing. My aim was sub 3.50 (before the weather forecast) but I was pleased with my time of 3.54 given my revised goal of sub 4 hours. I still don't know why I run marathons......

We're now rehydrated with prosecco, so it must be time for bed..
