Panna cotta

It’s been an interesting day today.

On the one hand a celebration – it’s our wedding anniversary (41 if you want to know).

On the other frustrations; the electric kettle packed up so I checked the purchase ticket to discover I bought it 14 months ago – warranty 12 months. A trip to purchase a replacement was needed asap. Booked a celebration meal for today (last week) and invited our children to join us giving them the time the table was booked. At the given time we are sitting at the venue waiting. I made a call to son who told me his sister had just arrived and they would be with us in 10 minutes. Given the distance they had to travel we knew it would be nearer 20 minutes before they got there.

Wife was understandably “upset” and wanted to phone and tell them not to bother coming! I managed to dissuade her from this course of action. After 20 minutes we were escorted to our table and as we guessed they turned up as we estimated. Of course they charmed their mother, were duly crestfallen with me, so the meal went very well. Today’s blip is wife’s dessert which she much enjoyed.

I think though there is a distinct possibility that our next celebration may well be “just the two of us”!
