The watcher

5pm: 
- four fox cubs race around their mum
- two cubs disappear next door and reappear – the lead cub has a ball in its mouth (stolen from my young neighbour)
- another fox cub digs up a tuft of grass and "kills" it
- yet another fox cub pulls the leaves from the red hot poker
- all fox cubs leap on each other and wrestle
- fox mum jumps on the run and stares at me looking out the kitchen window; she jumps off and runs next door, with all four cubs hot on her tail
