Snakeskin shoes

Went for a little walk to buy some groceries, and came across this skin!
I didn't think that San Francisco had wild snakes?!? Maybe its an escapee pet? Let's hope so. The sandals are getting put at the back of my cupboard. I'm not a fan of snakes...
