Reluctant to emerge
This small snail wasn't particularly convinced that leaving his shell was a good idea; I felt the same way about getting out of bed on this particular Tuesday morning - perhaps related in some way to the day-long festivities going on the day before.
This was taken with a set of extension tubes and the old Helios 50mm lens, hence the very very shallow depth of field. I used to use the same set-up on the Pentax DSLR and get a more workable focal depth so perhaps the aperture or focus distance weren't set quite as effectively as they could have been, but I liked the way only one eye was in focus; it had a distinct resonance with how I was feeling for most of the day!
