Common Redpoll

I thought these must be a rather uncommon bird for the area as I've never noticed them at the feeder before this afternoon; but according to the Cornell bird web page, they're pretty common in the area.  They just prefer a smaller seed...and since we've just changed seed in the feeder...viola!  A crowd of "new" birds for me to notice.  

This one is a pretty bold female, she let me sneak up quite close before she flitted away.  The male in the extra photo was a bit less bold, he retreated to a higher branch long before she did.
