Sharp/Pain
This is our poor Tom, who previously featured in a MonoMonday theme 4 weeks ago and won a heart for his efforts. Sadly he was diagnosed with a tumour a few days later and a biopsy revealed it was malignant this time. We took him to the Dick Veterinary School this morning for a consultation about our options and this is him after an examination having rejected the sharp thermometer to the right of him - he is very well behaved most of the time! I guess he's getting a bit sick of all these visits and trips to the vets in the past 18 months.
So there are many things they can do for him but alas they all are very likely to cost several thousand pounds and have no guarantee it will work or would not recur. We kind of knew that when we took him there, but were either looking for some hope or putting off making a decision, not having being in this position before...
It was unsurprisingly difficult to decide to put our efforts into his palliative care and letting him continue as long as he is up for it. If he's having fun, and he is well for now, we'll help him continue to do so.
So not a happy blip, but something that's been on our minds all day and finding something else to blip didn't seem appropriate. Thanks to JDO for hosting this month's challenge with today's theme of "Sharp". Happy blips from now :-)
