A long day

B and I took Tilly and Arthur to the British Museum today. Fascinating place - well it would be wouldn't it - full of stuff showing just how clever us humans are and how, in terms of skill, imagination and effort, we haven't really advanced - and in some cases probably declined - as makers and artisans.
Of course there are always exceptions to my sweeping generalisations.
What we do seem really good at is completely blocking motorways into capital cities for several hours at a time. Something I think the Ancient Egyptians (for example) were completely hopeless at.
